About Us — Local Area Network (CIC)
Local Area Network (CIC) is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company based in Aberdeen, created to bring people together through inclusive, alcohol-free gaming and social experiences for adults aged 18 and over.
We exist to provide a welcoming, friendly, and accessible space where people can connect, have fun, and build meaningful relationships through shared interests in gaming and social play. Whether you enjoy video games, board games, tabletop gaming, or just meeting new people in a relaxed environment, Local Area Network is designed with you in mind.
Our Purpose
Many adults feel excluded from traditional nightlife or struggle to find social spaces that don’t revolve around alcohol. Local Area Network was created to change that.
Our mission is to:
Provide regular, organised gaming and social events in a safe and supportive environment
Reduce social isolation and encourage positive social connections
Create a community where everyone feels welcome, regardless of gaming experience
Offer affordable, accessible social opportunities for adults in Aberdeen
As a Community Interest Company, we operate on a not-for-profit basis with an asset lock. This means any surplus we make is reinvested back into improving our events, resources, and community activities rather than being distributed as profit.
